Making Military Wishes Come True

Sears' Heroes at Home Wish Registry will enable the public to fulfill military families' wishes this holiday season

Sears Holdings Corporation is helping military families' wishes come true this holiday season with the launch of the Heroes at Home Wish Registry(sm), which is a program that enables America to fulfill wishes for deserving military families. Through this offering, Sears is continuing its long-standing tradition of support of the military, and especially their families, whose sacrifices also deserve much recognition and reward.

The Heroes at Home Wish Registry has been created specifically for this program, and works in a similar fashion to a bridal or baby registry. Military families can log on to www.sears.com/wish between August 27 and September 17, 2008 to apply for the Registry. Between November 2 and December 25, 2008, Sears will feature eligible military members, their families and the items on their wish lists on the Heroes at Home Wish Registry, to invite America to help fulfill these wishes. Bill Kiss, Divisional Vice President Program Development said, "The Heroes at Home Wish Registry allows us to connect with military families on a very personal level, and enable America to fulfill their wishes. It's an extremely powerful program, with extremely meaningful results."

The Heroes at Home Wish Registry, one of Sears Holdings Corporations' multiple programs supporting the military and their families, enables Sears' customers to thank America's military heroes for the sacrifices they make for our country. "We are proud to work with Sears as part of the Heroes at Home initiative. This is an excellent opportunity for Sears employees and customers to help improve the lives of hundreds of military families. During these times, it is more important than ever we give back to those who serve in uniform and sacrifice for this great nation," said Edward A. Powell, USO president and CEO.

Eligible military members and their families can register for the items they need most this holiday on the Heroes at Home Wish Registry by visiting www.sears.com/wish. To be eligible for the program, a member of the family must be serving on active duty in the U.S. Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines and Navy. Wishes must be items that are available for purchase at Sears' retail stores or online at Sears.com.

The Heroes at Home program provides support to service members, veterans and their families through joint efforts with various nonprofit organizations, including Rebuilding Together and the USO. Sears Holdings has spearheaded nationwide fundraising efforts in the spring and holiday seasons over the past year and has raised more than $5 million through Heroes at Home for Rebuilding Together. Sears Holdings has also committed to donating $250,000 to the USO this holiday season. Heroes at Home has helped hundreds of military families across America and the Wish Registry continues Sears Holdings' support of the men and women who serve our country.

Sears Holdings' ongoing commitment to assisting troops and their families includes several recruiting and employment programs. The company offers a military pay differential to Sears associates employed (full time) who are reservists serving on active duty. Additionally, reservists who are employed full-time are allowed to continue participating in life insurance, medical and dental programs.
