Sears Introduces One-of-a-Kind Group-Gifting Experience

Givetogether enables families and friends to connect and make any gifting occasion special

Just in time for Mother's Day and other gift-giving occasions, Sears introduces givetogether, a free, unique online gift-giving service, available at www.sears.com. With givetogether, families and friends can gather together in an easier, better way to give a great gift for any occasion, year round.

Sears givetogether offers many distinctive features on four easy-to-navigate tabs. In four steps, any social group can connect to share the pleasure of giving a gift to someone they all love - even though they may not be in the same place. Together, their giving capacity is greater, which enables the giving group to suggest a range of gifts and give a much larger and more aspirational gift than could be given individually.

First, the organizer or the recipient selects from any product or service offered by Sears and creates a group gift goal. Second, they send a friendly e-mail to invite contributors, such as family and friends, to participate. Sears givetogether allows participants to contribute at whatever level they choose via credit card, eliminating the hassle of collecting money from everyone or mailing checks or cash. There are no hidden costs or service fees.

Third, the group can track progress toward the goal online, adding to the excitement of seeing when the goal is achieved.

Finally, when the goal is met, the originator of the givetogether account can elect to give a Sears eGift Card to the recipient via e-mail or in person, who can redeem the eGift Card online, or in-store, for the actual gift.
