Sears and Kmart Give Shoppers Something to Celebrate With Unbeatable Black Friday Deals

WHO: Today, Nov. 27, lines started forming as early as 11 p.m. last

        night, some with as many as 1,500 people, who were out in full
        swing taking advantage of the great deals at Sears and Kmart, on
        what's traditionally one of the busiest shopping days of the
        year - Black Friday.

        "Following the initial morning rush, both Sears and Kmart stores
        across the country continue to see a steady stream of customers
        throughout the day," said a company spokesperson. "Customers
        really took advantage of our Doorbuster deals on home
        electronics, appliances and tools. Doorbusters went straight
        from the shelves to the layaway counters."

WHAT: Shoppers across the U.S. looked to their local Sears and Kmart

        stores to find early morning Doorbusters and Black Friday deals
        Both stores will continue to offer unbeatable savings on banner
        brands throughout the weekend.

        SEARS: Starting as early as 2:30 a.m. lines formed across the
        country ranging from 250 - 500 customers. Sears offered nearly
        600 Doorbusters and deals throughout the day. Popular items
        included the Kenmore 3.5-cu feet High Efficiency Washer/Dryer,
        Craftsman 19.2-volt Combo Kit, Samsung 40-inch TV, Canyon River
        jeans for the family, luggage and comforters.

        Sears will also have "Black Friday Now!" Doorbusters on Saturday
        (Nov. 28):
        -- Gearwrench eight-piece Wrench Set $34.99 (regularly $69.99)
        -- Garmin Nuvi GPS System $119.99 (regularly $219.99)
        -- Kids' Snug Buddy three-piece set $7.99 (regularly $19.99)
        -- Men's Arrow flannel shirts $9.99 (regularly $36.00)


        KMART: Staring at 11 p.m. on Thanksgiving, Kmart began painting
        Black Friday BLUE with "Blue Friday" deals and Bluelight
        specials with savings on a wide variety of merchandise. Popular
        items included: 32-inch Sony Bravia HDTV, NetBooks, Nintendo DSi
        bundles, fine jewelry and men's outerwear.

        Following the shopping rush, Kmart will also extend some great
        deals during the Two-Day Sale (Friday, Nov. 27 and Saturday,
        Nov. 28):
        -- Joe Boxer Sleepwear - Buy one, get one free (men's
           sets/women's all) (regularly $9.99-$32.99)
        -- Save up to 60 percent on all holiday home decor linens and
           accessories (regularly $2.49-$59.99, sale priced $1-$24)
        -- Seven-foot Heritage Pine Tree (Trim A Home) $79.99 (regularly
           $159.99); all Trim a Home trees will be 33 percent off
           (regularly $79.99-$259.99)
