Sears Helps New Hampshire Residents Access up to $1,000 in Rebates on ENERGY STAR®-Qualified Home Heating Systems

Sears Also Enhances Sears.com/energystar Web Site

Sears Home Services™ is helping New Hampshire residents access the $1,262,000 in rebates available for ENERGY STAR®-qualified home heating systems beginning April 19 until the funds are exhausted, as part of the "Cash for Appliances" rebate program. As the 2010 ENERGY STAR Retail Partner of the Year, Sears has revamped its Web site, Sears.com/energystar to include even more tools to help Americans learn about ENERGY STAR, search for rebates and credits, find the right appliance and dispose of the old one properly, and take small steps to make a big difference. In an effort to help New Hampshire residents better manage the rebate process, the Sears site also includes an interactive map, energy savings rebate calculator and information about ENERGY STAR products that qualify for the state rebates so customers can quickly and easily identify their favorite brands and models that are available for in-store purchase.

"At Sears, we're always looking for ways to make it easier and more affordable for Americans to swap out their old, inefficient appliances for new, ENERGY STAR-qualified models," said Stuart Reed, senior vice president and president of Sears Home Services. "This rebate money will go quickly, so we encourage our customers in Indiana to take advantage of the stimulus plan as early as possible to ensure access to the state funds."

Under the U.S. Department of Energy-approved appliance rebate plan for New Hampshire, residents purchasing ENERGY STAR-qualified home heating systems are eligible for rebates from $100 to $1,000. (I) Rebates are limited to one appliance per category for each New Hampshire applicant and in New Hampshire, Sears can help residents access up to $1,000 for fossil fuel based heating systems. Household appliances such as refrigerators, clothes washers and air conditioners are not included under the New Hampshire "Cash for Appliances" program although rebates will continue to be offered through the state's electric utility ENERGY STAR rebate program.

New Hampshire residents interested in purchasing energy-efficient, ENERGY STAR-qualified home heating systems, Sears Home Services will assist shoppers from start to finish. They can:

-- Provide information about which systems qualify for state rebates
      online at Sears.com/energystar
-- Direct consumers to 1-800-766-6298 to arrange an in-home appointment

The Sears project consultant who performs the home visit will provide details at that time on eligible ENERGY STAR-qualified HVAC systems and applicable rebates. The project consultant will also supply the required forms and certificates so the New Hampshire homeowner can apply for the appropriate rebates. After installation of the new, ENERGY STAR-qualified system is complete, Sears Home Services will dispose of the old, inefficient HVAC unit according to the appropriate New Hampshire State laws.

For full rebate updates and details, and to learn more, please visit Sears.com/energystar or call 1-800-766-6298.
